The Breakfast Log

Last summer me and this guy Dana jokingly came up with the idea of the "breakfast log"; a conglomeration of every type of breakfast food cemented into a loaf of greasy, cholesteroly goodness. Well, this weekend we made the log and documented the experiance. Enjoy!

This is me and Dana. He be the one tryin' to strangle me. He's uh, an intense kind of guy.

This is muh kitchen stereo! We listened to Blue Oyster Cult and the Severed Heads while making the log! Good stuff.

Our first try at making pancakes, uh... was a failure. So here's me scraping the crap off the pan.

Then we cooked the sausage!!

Then Dana made de scrambled eggs!!

Then we mixed all the ingredients together in a big bowl.

A shot of the table we made the log on. This'll be a bitch to clean up.

Me munching on some of the excess pancakes.

We needed something to squish all the ingredients down into the cup... so we found this nice li'l cooking thermometer! I wrapped it in green cellophane to make sure it didn't get like... breakfast log in it.

Dana compacted the log!! We used some tupperware cup to squishie it down... we laced the breakfast scrappings with shredded cheese to melt it together in the microwave.

The log before microwaving...

We put cellophane over the log and microwved it to get the cheese all meltie in the log!

Here are some tasty pics of the finished logs! We were able to get about 1 and a half logs out of our mix.

Dana eatin' some log.

Washing all the dishes... while Dana was in the living room, playing Tetris.

The Result: Friggin' Success!

The log tasted as good as we'd hoped. We even got a garage full of people we know to eat the first log! I'm gonna give the other one to my daddy... hope he likes it!

The Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 Pancakes
  • 2 Waffles
  • 3 Hash browns
  • 4 Eggs
  • 3 Sausage Patties
  • 1 bag of shredded cheese
Directions
  • Like, cook everything, like, the way you normally would.
  • Chop all the ingredients up into li'l peices and mix into a bowl. Add lots of shredded cheese, as this is your "glue".
  • Grease up the inside of a tube-like-cup with olive oil. Mash it full of your breakfast log material. Use food thermometer to pack it all down good. Cover top of cup with cellophane and microwave until the cheese is all melted.
  • Take out, remove cellophane, and let cool for maybe a minute. Then put cup upsidedown on a plate and let the log slide out. Slice up and enjoy! Goes great with maple syrup dipping sauce and jello off to the side.
